This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use and Cookies Policy. By using the Services you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Mobile number: when you choose to log in, we collect your mobile number to send you a one-time password (OTP) and to identify your account. Logging in is optional; news, videos, ePaper and Panchang can be used without an account.
  • Account details: if you add them, your name and the preferences linked to your account.
  • Preferences stored on your device: your selected states and cities (“मेरा शहर”), light or dark theme, and recent searches are stored on your own device or browser so the Services can remember them. You can clear them at any time from your device or browser settings, or by uninstalling the app.
  • Usage and device information: pages and articles viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device type, operating system, app version, browser type and crash or performance data, collected to keep the Services working and to improve them.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: as described in our Cookies Policy.

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as passwords for other services, financial or banking information, health information, or biometric data. The app does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise GPS location.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following cases:

  • When you share an article or ePaper through WhatsApp or another app, the link is shared by you through that app and is subject to that app’s privacy policy.
  • When required by law, court order or government authority, or to protect the rights, property or safety of DPPCPL, our users or the public.

4. Data retention

We keep your mobile number and account details for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Information stored on your device remains there until you clear it or uninstall the app. We may retain certain information for longer where required by law.
